New Delhi, November 5 (IANS). According to the information given by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions on Wednesday, Union Minister of State for Science and Technology (Independent Charge) Dr. Jitendra Singh launched the Digital Life Certificate (DLC) Campaign 4.0. This step has been taken by the Center to make life certification easier for pensioners.

Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh also led by example by creating his own Digital Life Certificate during the press conference organized for the launch of DLC Campaign 4.0 at the National Media Centre.

DLC Campaign 4.0 has started this month on November 1 and will run till November 30. More than 55 lakh digital life certificates have been generated in the first four days of the campaign. Whereas for this month-long campaign, a target has been set to generate two crore digital life certificates.

Highlighting the achievements of last year’s DLC 3.0, Dr Jitendra Singh said, “52.73 lakh DLCs were submitted using face authentication, while 72.64 lakh were from EPFO ​​pensioners.”

He further said, “Last year’s Campaign 3.0 was run in November 2024 at 1,984 locations in 845 districts and cities, during which 1.62 crore DLCs were generated, which included 49.78 lakh DLCs of Central Government pensioners. Of these, over 85,200 were of pensioners above 90 years of age, and over 2,200 Belonged to pensioners above 100 years of age.”

According to the ministry, DLC Campaign 4.0 is being run through 2,500 camps in approximately 2,000 districts, cities and towns across the country and in coordination with 1,250 nodal officers, with the participation of major banks, India Post Payments Bank and pensioners’ welfare associations. This initiative ensures that a pensioner coming from any location can submit his DLC without any hassle.

DLC Campaign 4.0 is being run in collaboration with 19 pension disbursing banks, India Post Payments Bank (IPPB), pensioners welfare associations, UIDAI, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, EPFO, Railways, CGDA and Department of Telecommunications.

IPPB alone is organizing camps in more than 1,600 districts and sub-divisions through its network of 1.8 lakh postmen and Gramin Dak Sevaks.

The department has also created a dedicated DLC portal, which is spread across 1,850 cities and towns and covers more than 2,500 camp sites and more than 1,200 nodal officers.
