DIG Bhullar was sent to judicial custody, now ED also took command of the investigation.

Chandigarh. Suspended Punjab Police DIG Harcharan Singh Bhullar was sent to judicial custody. After completion of 5-day CBI remand, he was produced in the special CBI court in Chandigarh on Tuesday. Now his appearance will be held on November 20 through video conferencing. The co-accused middleman was sent to judicial custody a day earlier. The investigating agency did not make any third arrest in this case. During the hearing, CBI’s lawyer told the court that DIG Bhullar was not cooperating in the investigation and was not giving correct answers to the agency’s questions. Meanwhile, defense lawyer H.S. Dhanoa demanded from the court that medical facilities should be provided to Bhullar in jail. On this the judge said that this application can be given to the jail administration. Now ED also entered
Meanwhile, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has also started investigation in the case. The ED team reached the CBI office in Chandigarh on Tuesday, where it is taking records of documents related to those IAS and IPS officers who are accused of benami property. According to sources, so far the names of about 50 officers have emerged in the investigation, many of whom are currently posted in the field in Punjab.
Names of 14 officers exposed in CBI inquiry
According to CBI sources, during the interrogation of DIG Bhullar, it was revealed that many officers of Punjab were investing in property through a Patiala-based property dealer Bhupinder Singh. According to the claim, the names of 14 officers have emerged during the interrogation – these include 10 IPS and 4 IAS officers. Of these, 8 IPS officers are posted on important posts in the field, while 2 are working in the Punjab Police Academy. The connections of four IAS officers are said to be related to Mandi Gobindgarh area.
Raid on property dealer’s premises
CBI raided the properties of property dealer Bhupinder Singh in Patiala and Ludhiana. The agency found many important documents and records related to benami property from there, which were confiscated.
Links of 50 officers found from middleman Sharda’s mobile
In the report presented in the CBI court, it was told that contacts of about 50 officers were found from the mobile and electronic devices of the arrested middleman Krishna Sharda. Through these officers, he used to do corrupt dealings in matters like transfer-posting, registering or canceling FIRs and issuing arms licenses.
