Hyderabad, November 14 (IANS). AIMIM national president Asaduddin Owaisi, who won five seats in the Bihar assembly elections, made a big claim on Friday. He said that his party will continue the fight for justice for Seemanchal and work for development.
The Hyderabad MP and party president said that his party welcomes the mandate given by the people of Bihar. We congratulate Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and extend our best wishes.
Addressing the press conference, Owaisi said that his party will cooperate with the government for the development of Seemanchal.
He said that our focus will be on bringing progress in Seemanchal, reducing child mortality rate and building schools, hospitals, bridges and industries for women and children. We will give our full cooperation in this effort.
Owaisi said that despite the defeat in the first election and rivals plotting a split in 2022 by luring four MLAs, AIMIM did not leave Seemanchal and announced that it would continue its fight.
Thanking the voters of Seemanchal for electing his party’s five MLAs, Owaisi said the result would send a message to minorities across the country.
He said that I again appeal to the Muslim community that they should not just become voters for others, but should become citizens to get their rights as citizens. If you vote, you will be forgotten after the elections and if any trouble befalls you, no one will come.
He expressed confidence that secular-minded forces would also introspect and mend their ways instead of blaming only Muslims. In response to a question, he said that you cannot say that a particular caste did not vote for you, but you blame Muslims because you think they are your bonded voters and they are bonded labourers.
He further said that he has been saying that RJD will not be able to stop BJP. The people of Bihar were misled about the M-Y alliance. I had said this earlier also, during the elections and am saying this even today. You will remain just a voter. Will become a vote gatherer. This will have two benefits. Your leadership will develop and you will be able to stop communal and fascist forces.
Owaisi said that his apprehensions regarding the results of Bihar elections have proved true. Without naming the Grand Alliance, he said that they need to introspect as to why they failed to stop the BJP.
He urged the Grand Alliance to change its course and said that nothing will be achieved by merely cursing AIMIM.
He also rejected the statement of Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav in which he had held SIR responsible for the defeat in Bihar.
He said that you have to see your weaknesses. First of all, you have to be polite. If you think that we are kings and voters are our subjects, those days are gone.
