After being in the “very poor” category for several days, the air quality in the capital Delhi came down to the “poor” category on Sunday morning, resulting in a slight improvement in the air quality of the national capital.
According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the overall air quality index (AQI) in Delhi was recorded at 268, which is better than the day before, i.e. on Saturday. AQI 305 was recorded on Saturday.
According to data from CPCB’s Sameer App, five monitoring centers in Delhi have recorded air quality in the “very poor” category, while the other 33 centers have reported it to remain at “poor” level.
As per CPCB standards, AQI between zero and 50 is considered ‘good’, 51 to 100 ‘satisfactory’, 101 to 200 ‘moderate’, 201 to 300 ‘poor’, 301 to 400 ‘very poor’ and 401 to 500 ‘severe’.
India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that the minimum temperature in Delhi was recorded at 8.3 degrees Celsius, which is two degrees below the season’s average. The department said that the relative humidity was recorded at 97 percent at 8.30 in the morning.
