A viral video made with AI has created a new controversy between Congress and BJP. In the video, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is seen selling tea at a red-carpet event. Congress leader Ragini Nayak shared it on Instagram and wrote, “Now who did this?” Shortly after the video surfaced, BJP attacked Congress and called it an insult to the Prime Minister.

What is this video?
In the video, Prime Minister Modi is seen in a light blue coat and black pants, holding a kettle and a glass of tea in his hand. International flags and the Indian flag are shown in the background. It is being said that the video is made with AI. BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla strongly criticized the video, saying, “After Renuka Chaudhary insulted Parliament and the Army, now Ragini Nayak has made fun of Modi’s ‘chaiwala’ background.” He said the Congress was “not able to accept a hard-working Prime Minister from the OBC community.” Poonawalla alleged that he had insulted Modi more than 150 times, even targeting his mother. The country will never forgive this.
Controversy over AI video before
Poonawala is referring to an AI video shared by Bihar Congress in September, in which PM Modi was seen talking to his deceased mother in a dream. This video had created a political uproar and the Patna High Court had ordered Congress to remove it from social media.

This controversy is not new. Congress leaders have already given statements regarding PM Modi’s “chaiwala” background. In 2014, Mani Shankar Aiyar had said that Modi could never become Prime Minister and that after losing the elections, he could sell tea at the Congress convention. This statement had become a big issue for BJP. BJP turned it into a political weapon and started the “Chai Pe Charcha” campaign, in which Modi interacted with people across the country. In 2017, a Youth Congress meme mocking Modi also sparked controversy. Later Congress removed that post.
