Honda scooters in India will be cheap by Rs 8,259, while the price of motorcycles will be cut by Rs 18,887
Honda 2-wheeler India has cut its scooter and motorcycle line-up prices by up to Rs 18,887 due to recently implemented GST reforms in the country. Under GST 2.0, bikes and scooters with engine capacity less than 350 cc, which used to be 28 percent GST earlier, will now come under the purview of 18 percent GST. The company also said that it would inform buyers about the price reduction due to amendment in GST rates.
Talking about the country’s best -selling and most popular scooter Activa 110, it will now be cheaper by Rs 7,874, while Activa 125 will now be cheaper by Rs 8,259. Due to the new GST rates, prices of Dio 110 and Dio 125 have been reduced by Rs 7,157 and Rs 8,042 respectively. Thus, Honda scooters will now become cheaper by about 7-8 thousand rupees based on the model.
Commenting on this announcement, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India sales and marketing director, Mr. Yogesh Mathur, said that they welcome the government’s new GST reform. This strategic initiative will not only improve personal transport, but will also promote economic development. “Decreasing GST on bikes, scooters and their parts is a sensible step taken at the right time. This will make the vehicles cheap and strengthen the entire automobile system.”

Talking about motorcycles, entry-level shine 100 and Shine 100 DX prices have been cut by Rs 5,672 and Rs 6,256 respectively. Livo 110 will also be Rs 7,165 cheaper. Talking about the 125 cc portfolio, Honda Shine sells three models named 125, SP125 and CB125 Hornet and all of them have been cut by Rs 7,443, Rs 8,447 and Rs 9,229 respectively.
Prices of Honda Unicorn and SP160 will be cut by about 10 thousand rupees. The prices of Hornet 2.0 and NX200 will be cut by about 13-14 thousand rupees. At the same time, 350cc portfolio will get a maximum GST benefit of Rs 18-19 thousand on the basis of CB350 H’nes, CB350RS and CB350.
“HMSI is fully ready to benefit its customers from this GST deduction. With the festive season, this step will help us reach more customers in both the city and the village. Balance and better options can be given. ” Honda said that customers would have to visit the authorized showroom of the company closely for accurate information about the price cuts.
