In the coming new year, passengers between Patna and Delhi are going to get a big gift. The country’s first sleeper Vande Bharat Express will run on this route. Its state-of-the-art coaches have been manufactured at the Rail Coach Factory in Kapurthala, and its rakes will be shipped to Patna in the next 15 days. This train will run at a speed of 160 kmph and will reach Delhi in about two hours less than the existing Tejas and Rajdhani Express.
The sleeper Vande Bharat Express is fitted with an advanced safety system called “Kavach”, which automatically stops the train in case of any possible accident. This technology is considered essential for high-speed safety. The gangway connecting the train compartments is completely sealed, which prevents dust or external noise from entering. Every coach is fitted with automatic plug doors which close automatically 10 seconds before the departure of the train. This will prevent incidents like theft and snatching and increase security. CCTV cameras are installed in every coach, which keep an eye on passengers and luggage.
Premium travel with modern amenities
To improve the experience of passengers, the train has been completely designed with modern, attractive and luxurious interior design. Each coach will be equipped with high-speed internet, audio-video passenger information system, seat-side charging point, touch-free bio-vacuum toilet and entertainment screen.
To reach the upper berth, pneumatic stairs have been provided, so that the elderly and women can easily reach their seats. In case of emergency, every coach has an integrated talk-back unit, allowing passengers to contact the train crew directly. Fresh and hygienic food will be provided to the passengers in the pantry car.
