Mumbai . The alliance between Uddhav Thackeray (Shiv Sena UBT) and Raj Thackeray (MNS) ahead of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections has now become official. With this, former Maharashtra Chief Minister and Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray and MNS chief Raj Thackeray paid tribute to Balasaheb Thackeray. Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi said, “… BMC elections have not been held for 3.5 years. They (Mahayuti) have looted all its money. No work has been done for the public. We will take all these issues among the public and will win the trust of the public… These (Mahayuti) people have come only for money and power. For them, politics is to gain power and for us, politics is a medium of service. Sanjay Shirsat, minister in Maharashtra government, has said that the Municipal Corporation elections will be held in 2026. On the alliance of Shiv Sena-UBT and MNS, he said, “…If these people had left, why would they have suffered so much defeat in the recently held Nagar Panchayat elections?… Today’s alliance is their compulsion because even Congress is not with UBT, Sharad Pawar is not with them, so they need someone or the other. Just as a drowning person is supported by a straw, in the same way he (Uddhav Thackeray) wants to take support from Raj Thackeray… although I don’t think he will get much benefit from it.”
