Tata Sierra EV will come with two battery options and is expected to get advanced features like level-2 ADAS, triple-screen setup
Recently, Tata Motors has officially confirmed that the calendar year 2026 will be very important for its electric vehicle portfolio. During this time, Sierra EV, facelifted Punch EV and the first Avinya model will be launched in India. Of these, the Sierra EV is the first to make headlines and is likely to hit the market in early 2026.
Even before the launch of the electric version, Sierra has created a huge buzz in the market. The Sierra with petrol-diesel engines has started reaching dealerships and has received an excellent response from customers. In just the first 24 hours, Tata received around 70,000 bookings, while around 1.35 lakh customers showed interest by registering their preferred configuration.
Test models of Sierra EV have been seen several times on Indian roads, which clearly shows that its testing is going on at a rapid pace before its launch. The design of the electric Sierra will be largely similar to the petrol/diesel model, but some specific EV-related changes will be made in it. A closed grille will be provided at the front and an LED DRL light strip spanning the entire width will be available.
Split headlamps, dark bumper insert and skid plate will further enhance its powerful SUV look. Raised shoulder lines, square wheel arches, flush door handles and stylish alloy wheels can be found in the side profile. Connected LED light bar, boxy tailgate design and EV badging will be seen at the rear.
Talking about the cabin, the interior of Sierra EV will be largely similar to its petrol/diesel model. It will get the most special triple-screen dashboard, which will include a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, large touchscreen infotainment system and a separate screen for the passenger. Apart from this, the car is also expected to get good quality materials, new dashboard design, ambient lighting and panoramic glass roof.
Mechanically, many technologies of Harrier EV can be seen in Sierra EV. Tata can give the option of two battery packs in it. The larger battery pack will be capable of delivering a range of over 500 kilometers on a single charge. Apart from this, it is also expected to have modern facilities like DC fast charging and bi-directional charging.
