Dense fog blanketed the national capital on Saturday morning and the air quality remained in the ‘very poor’ category.
According to Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data, the overall air quality index (AQI) of the city was recorded at 355 at 9 am.
According to CPCB, AQI between zero and 50 is considered ‘good’, 51 to 100 ‘satisfactory’, 101 to 200 ‘moderate’, 201 to 300 ‘poor’, 301 to 400 ‘very poor’ and 401 to 500 ‘severe’.
Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said the minimum temperature in Delhi was recorded at 7.8 degrees Celsius, which is one degree above normal.
The IMD has predicted foggy conditions to persist during the day and the maximum temperature is likely to be around 22 degrees Celsius. The department said that the relative humidity was recorded at 100 percent at 8.30 in the morning.
