Lucknow, Amrit Vichar: For the long life of children, health and happiness and prosperity of the family, Sakat Chauth fast will be observed on Chaturthi of Krishna Paksha of Magh month i.e. 6th January. While its preparation has started in homes, the market has started smelling like laddus made of sesame, laiya, gram, bevan sev, peanuts and other types of jaggery. Sesame laddus, lava and gram laddus are being sold at Rs 200 per kg and Laiya laddus at Rs 120 per kg.
Sakat Chauth is also called Tilwa Chauth, Til-Kuta Chauth, Maghi Chauth and Vakra-Tundi Chaturthi. On this day, mothers observe a fast and worship Sakat Mata, Lord Ganesha and Chandra Dev and pray for the long life of their children. According to Pandit Ramji, according to the Panchang, Chaturthi Tithi will start at 8:01 am on January 6 and end at 6:52 am on January 7. The fast will be observed on Tuesday, January 6. On this day, Preeti Yoga will continue from morning till 08:21 pm, after which Ayushman Yoga will be formed. Moon God will rise at 8:54 pm, after which women will break the fast after seeing the moon.
Chauth puja includes water, betel nut, sacred thread, chowki, flowers, Ganga water, desi ghee, sesame laddus, fruits, Kalash, lamp, milk, modak, incense, Ganesh idol, Durva and Roli. Fasting women take a bath in the morning, take a resolution, worship Ganesh and recite the fast story and offer sesame laddus. Donating ghee, jaggery, sesame seeds, grains, copper vessels and warm clothes is considered auspicious on this day.
