The effect of GST cut is now visible. After auto companies, now FMCG companies have also started reducing the prices of products. Hindustan Unilever (HUL), one of the country’s largest FMCG companies, has announced a cut in prices of its popular products – dab shampoo, lifestyle soap, horlix, coffee etc.
Customers will get the benefit of cutting the prices of these products from September 22, when the Goods and Services Tax (GST) improvement will be applicable. In an advertisement given in a newspaper, the company has released new rates after cutting GST rates on several products. The company has said that the stock of products with new prices will soon come in the market. Let us see how much items the company has reduced the prices.
How many rates were reduced on what?
The bottle of 340 ml dove shampoo will be reduced from Rs 490 to Rs 435. The price of 200 grams of horlix will be reduced from Rs 130 to Rs 110. 200 grams of farmer jam will now be reduced from Rs 90 to Rs 80. The price of 75 grams of lifeboy soap will now be 60 rupees, which was earlier 68 rupees. The price of Clinic Plus 355ML shampoo will be reduced from Rs 393 to Rs 340. The price of Sunsilk Black Sign Shampoo 350ml will be reduced from Rs 430 to Rs 370. The price of Dove Serum 75g will be reduced from Rs 45 to Rs 40. Lifeboy soap (75 grams x 4) will now be reduced from Rs 68 to Rs 60.
Lux soap (75 grams x 4) will be available from Rs 96 to Rs 85. Closeup toothpaste (150 grams) will be available from Rs 145 to Rs 129. The price of Lakme 9 to 5PM compact 9G has come down from Rs 675 to Rs 599. The price of Kisan Katchup (850 grams) will be reduced from Rs 100 to Rs 93 to Rs 284. The price of Bru Coffee 75 grams has been reduced from Rs 300 to Rs 270. The price of Nor Tomato Soup 67 grams has been reduced from Rs 65 to Rs 55. Helman Real Mayonnaise 250 grams has been reduced from Rs 99 to Rs 90. The price of 200 grams has been reduced from Rs 124 to Rs 110.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has announced major changes in GST after a meeting of only two slab GST Council in GST. Currently 4 slabs under GST are 5%, 12%, 18% and 28%, which have been reduced from September 22 to only two slabs 5% and 18%. After this major change, there is going to be a major decrease in the price of all the important things from food and drinking to shampoo, toothpaste, which will benefit the customers directly. In view of this, HUL has also announced a big cut in product rate.
