New Delhi, January 20 (IANS). In today’s busy life, people often skip morning breakfast, but both Ayurveda and science believe that morning breakfast determines our health throughout the day.
After 8 to 10 hours of sleep at night, our body comes out of a long fast. During this time, the body’s energy is almost exhausted and the brain also needs nutrition to function properly. If proper and nutritious breakfast is not available at this time, then problems like fatigue, irritability, lack of attention and frequent hunger start appearing throughout the day.
According to Ayurveda, morning is the time to gradually awaken Agni i.e. the digestive power in the body. In such a situation, heavy or very fried food can cause harm, whereas breakfast rich in nutrients and easily digestible makes the body strong from inside. Science says that having a balanced breakfast within one to one and a half hours of waking up in the morning keeps the blood sugar level stable and the metabolism active. In such a situation, there are some special foods, which can give full strength to the body even in small quantities.
Consuming seeds like pumpkin seeds and chia seeds in morning breakfast is no less than a boon for the body. Protein, zinc, magnesium and iron are found in abundance in pumpkin seeds. According to Ayurveda, these seeds help in removing weakness from the body and strengthen the nerves. According to science, pumpkin seeds are beneficial for heart health and strengthen the immune system. Chia seeds are rich in fiber and omega-3 fatty acids. They absorb water in the stomach, due to which the stomach feels full for a long time and one does not feel hungry again and again. This is why it is also considered helpful in controlling weight. Chia seeds clean the intestines.
If you like solid breakfast, then breakfast made from gram flour i.e. gram flour is a great option. In Ayurveda, gram is considered to be a tonic, that is, it gives strength to the body. The protein present in gram flour gives energy to the muscles, while the fiber keeps the digestion healthy. Eating cheela made from gram flour in the morning provides energy to the body for a long time and keeps hunger under control. According to science, gram flour gets digested slowly, which keeps the blood sugar level balanced and also reduces the risk of diabetes. Gram flour cheela made with vegetables also provides vitamins and minerals to the body.
At the same time, Greek yogurt makes morning breakfast even more special. Greek yogurt is thicker and richer in protein than normal yogurt. In Ayurveda, curd is considered useful for digestion, provided it is consumed at the right time and in the right way. The probiotics present in Greek yogurt increase the good bacteria in the stomach, which strengthens the digestive system.
