New Delhi, January 21 (IANS). Physical and mental health can be improved through yoga. In today’s time of irregularity, Yogasana has become an even more important part. Yoga experts recommend including Purna Bhujangasana in your daily routine.

Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga describes Purna Bhujangasana as an effective asana. This is an advanced and intensive form of Bhujangasana, which gives flexibility to the spine, strengthens the back and the entire body and increases respiratory capacity by opening the chest. According to experts, with regular practice, this asana is also helpful in removing stiffness of shoulders, neck and waist.

Morarji Desai Institute gives detailed information about the method of doing Purna Bhujangasana. According to experts, complete Bhujangasana practice should be done with caution. For this, first of all lie down on your stomach. Keep the palms near the shoulders. While inhaling, raise the chest, neck and head, bend the elbows slightly and pull the shoulders back. After this, bend your knees and raise your toes. Stretch your head and neck back and try to touch your head with your feet. Stay in this posture for as long as comfortably possible without putting pressure on the body. After this, slowly come back to Shavasana position. Lie down comfortably, take deep breaths and allow your heart rate and breathing to return to normal.

Regular practice of Purna Bhujangasana makes the spine flexible, strengthens the digestive system, stimulates the thyroid gland and reduces stress. This asana is especially beneficial for those who work sitting for long periods of time or suffer from back pain. However, this asana should be avoided by pregnant women, those with severe back problems, high blood pressure, hernia or recent surgery.

In the initial days, this asana should be learned slowly and it is better to practice it under the supervision of a yoga expert. Experts say that practice yoga asanas with patience and regularity. Advanced asanas like Purna Bhujangasana increase the body’s stamina, but there is a risk of injury if done incorrectly.
