New Delhi, February 1 (IANS). Union Minister Giriraj Singh said on the General Budget that it has brought the message of big investment in education, science and research for the future generation.
He said that Mahatma Gandhi Gram Swaraj Initiative is a visionary initiative to build a self-reliant and strong India. Under this, along with promoting Khadi, handloom, handicraft and textile sectors, special attention will be given to branding, quality and skilling. This initiative will increase employment and empower women. Agriculture, animal husbandry and rural enterprises have got a new direction in this budget. From fisheries to value-added agri products, there is a clear focus on increasing farmers’ income.
Shivraj Singh said that employment and self-reliance are being strengthened in rural India through technology, entrepreneurship and women empowerment. Digital India is being given a new direction in Budget 2026-27. By empowering the IT sector, we will advance in innovation, technological progress and global competitiveness. This step is important towards making India more self-reliant, smart and fully prepared for the future.
He said that under the leadership of PM Modi, animal husbandry is becoming not only a livelihood but also a strong base for employment and entrepreneurship. Income, self-reliance and new opportunities will be created for rural India through credit support, modern livestock enterprises, expansion of dairy and poultry value chains and livestock. This initiative is a decisive step towards inclusive growth and a strong rural economy.
The Union Minister said that under the visionary leadership of PM Modi, Samarth 2.0 is going to change the direction of India’s textile sector. With an investment of Rs 2800 crore, India will be made a global hub of textile, design and innovation by skilling 15 lakh people in the next 5 years and the skill gap in the textile sector will be reduced by 50 percent by 2030. Samarth 2.0 with the mantra of ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas’ will combine technology and tradition to empower women, youth and deprived sections. Modi government has expanded biopharma power and promoted research, innovation and domestic production. By strengthening self-reliant India, a strong foundation of developed India is being laid.
