Udhampur. A balloon with the logo of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) was found on Thursday in Kera area of Laddan in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir. This incident spread concern among the local people and security agencies immediately became active. Local people saw the balloon lying in an open field and immediately informed the police. As soon as the information was received, teams of police, army and other security agencies reached the spot. As a precaution, the entire area was surrounded and people nearby were taken to a safe place. Police have taken possession of the balloon and sent it for further investigation. Security agencies are investigating where the balloon came from? What was its purpose and whether it contained any suspicious material or not. However, no dangerous object or suspicious material was found in the balloon at the time of recovery.
In the initial investigation it seems that it could be an ordinary balloon, which may have reached here by flying with the wind. But, being a border area, the security agencies are not taking it lightly. Local people were surprised to see the PIA logo on the balloon and were associating it with some dangerous activity.
At the same time, the police has appealed to the people to immediately inform if they see any suspicious object or balloon and stay away from it. A thorough investigation of the case is underway and more information is expected to emerge soon.
Let us tell you that this incident is increasing the already existing concern regarding security in the border area. Udhampur district is adjacent to the border with Pakistan, hence immediate action is taken on such incidents. Security agencies are trying to trace the source of the balloon and any possible intentions behind it.
