Jodhpur. Jodhpur Police Commissioner Om Prakash said on Saturday that storyteller Sadhvi Prem Baisa died due to a heart attack.



According to Jodhpur Police, in the detailed report of the Medical Board, the main cause of death of Sadhvi Prem Baisa has been stated as cardiopulmonary arrest due to serious lung problem. Police Commissioner Om Prakash said that investigation revealed that compounder Devi Singh disregarded medical protocol during treatment, which shows negligence.
Based on the FSL and histopathological report received on February 12, the medical board concluded that Sadhvi died due to shock resulting from cardiopulmonary arrest due to lung disease, including asthma or COPD.
The Police Commissioner clarified that no trace of poison was found in his body during scientific testing. Furthermore, there were no signs of sexual abuse or any external or internal injuries.
Considering the sensitivity of the case, the Special Investigation Team collected evidence at many levels during the investigation. The Police Commissioner said that the opinion of the latest medical board has also been sought on the effect of some medicines given to Sadhvi.
After receiving the final report of the board, legal action will be taken against the compounder under the provisions of the Indian Penal Code and Rajasthan Medical Act, 1952.
Sadhvi Prem Baisa’s health deteriorated on January 28 at her Aarti Nagar Ashram, Bornada, Jodhpur. It was told that he was suffering from cold and difficulty in breathing, after which compounder Devi Singh administered two injections. His condition deteriorated rapidly shortly after the injection.
The family took him to Preksha Hospital on Pal Road, where doctors declared him brought dead. His father Veeram Nath brought the body back to the ashram, after which with police intervention the body was shifted to the MGH mortuary.
The post-mortem was conducted on January 29 and the body was handed over to the family the same evening. On January 30, Sadhvi Prem Baisa was cremated in Pariyu village of Barmer district.
On February 2, samples of the organs were sent for forensic examination. The FSL investigation was completed in 11 days and the report was submitted to Jodhpur Police on Thursday.
Expert opinion was also taken on the basis of FSL and post mortem findings to finalize the investigation.
