The ongoing war between Iran and Israel has affected air travel, affecting many Indians living in Gulf countries. Meanwhile, on the morning of March 6, 2026, 50 people from Karnataka stranded in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have reached Delhi safely. These passengers have been brought to Delhi via Fujairah instead of Dubai or Abu Dhabi. As soon as they landed at Delhi airport, a special team of Karnataka government helped them and took the responsibility of further journey.
What facilities were available for passengers at Delhi Airport?
After landing at Delhi Airport, the passengers were welcomed by the protocol team of Karnataka Government and officials of the Resident Commissioner’s office. The state government said that breakfast was arranged for the passengers at the airport itself.
After this, vehicles were arranged to take them from the International Terminal of Delhi Airport to the Domestic Terminal. From here all these passengers will leave for Bengaluru, Mangaluru and Hubballi through different flights for their further journey. The government has ensured that they do not face any problem in reaching home.
Why did the flight have to be changed due to war?
According to reports, many people were stranded there since February 28 due to the Iran-Israel conflict. Due to huge problems and cancellation of flights in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, he had to take a flight from Fujairah Airport.
The Karnataka government had already announced that it would help its citizens stranded in West Asia bear hotel and travel expenses. State Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda said that the government is in constant touch with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and is tracking about 109 people stranded there through the helpline.
