Chandigarh. Haryana’s Public Works and Public Health Engineering Minister Ranbir Gangwa has said that International Women’s Day is an important occasion to remember the respect, rights and contributions of women. Today, women are proving their talent in every field and are playing an important role in the development of the society.
The Cabinet Minister was addressing a program organized on the occasion of International Women’s Day in Hisar on Sunday. After paying homage to the great social reformers Mahatma Jyotiba Phule and Savitri Bai Phule in the program, in his address he said that proper development of any society is not possible without women empowerment. Haryana Government is running many schemes for women’s education, security and self-reliance, the benefits of which are being availed by the daughters and women of the society. The Cabinet Minister inspired the girl students to pursue education and set higher goals in their lives.
He said that the purpose of celebrating International Women’s Day is to strengthen the feeling of respect and equality towards women in the society. Such events develop social awareness and positive thinking among the students. On this occasion, colorful cultural programs were presented by the school students. On this occasion, many dignitaries of the area, parents, teachers and students were present in large numbers.
