New Delhi, March 21 (IANS). Bharatiya Janata Party MP Manan Kumar Mishra has reacted sharply to the recent statements of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat. He attacked Mamata Banerjee’s statement in which she had said that there was ‘undeclared emergency’ and ‘President’s rule like situation’ in West Bengal.
Manan Kumar Mishra, while talking to news agency IANS, said that as the elections are coming closer, Mamata Banerjee’s anxiety is increasing. He has an idea of the mood of the voters. He claimed that the people of the state have made up their mind to oust Trinamool Congress (TMC) from power this time, due to which the Chief Minister is making such statements.
Manan Kumar Mishra said that Mamata Banerjee has woken up late now and it is only at the time of elections that she remembers the problems of the people and different classes. He alleged that the public welfare schemes of the Central Government are not allowed to be implemented in the state and the government focuses on other issues instead of the interests of the public. Mishra said that the people of West Bengal have now understood everything and will not give TMC a second chance this time.
Responding to Mohan Bhagwat’s statement (in which he had mentioned India’s possible role in the ongoing conflict between Israel, America and Iran), Manan Kumar Mishra said that India’s role can definitely be important. He said that India’s foreign policy has been balanced and neutral and the country has good relations with all three countries – Israel, America and Iran. In such a situation, India can play an important role in reducing this tension. He also said that this conflict is a fight for supremacy and a solution is likely to emerge with the intervention of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Apart from this, Mishra also expressed support to the demand of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) to remove Mohammad Ali Jinnah from the Political Science syllabus of Jammu University. He said that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India and including in the syllabus a person who played a role in the partition of the country is not appropriate. According to him, this demand of ABVP is justified and immediate action should be taken on it, so that the right message reaches the students.
