Elections are going on in West Bengal, and today in Haldia, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was seen in a completely different and energetic style. From the stage, he presented six big ‘Modi guarantees’ to the people of Bengal and clearly said that the moment the BJP government comes to power, the corrupt will be sent to jail, and the files of every previous scam will be reopened. PM Modi looked very happy after seeing the huge crowd gathered at the rally; He announced that this time the people of Bengal have firmly resolved that they will overcome every obstacle and overcome every difficulty. He described it as not just an election but a storm of change which has the power to oust the TMC government from power.
PM Modi stressed that this election in Bengal is not a small matter; Rather, it is a fight to reclaim Bengal’s lost glory and re-establish its historical identity. He explained to the people in simple words that if we really want to fulfill the dream of ‘Developed Bengal’, then the first step would be to show the way out to this ruthless government and remove it from power.
He argued that at a time when the entire country is progressing so fast, TMC is deliberately pushing Bengal back through its policies. Bengal—once the heart of the country’s trade and industry—has today lagged far behind in terms of development. Giving the example of Haldia, he said, “There was a time when people from far and wide used to come here in search of work; but today the situation has deteriorated so much that the youth here are being forced to migrate to other states to earn their livelihood.”
Bengal Elections: Why such tremendous tension between TMC and Election Commission?
Taking a jibe from the stage, PM Modi said that under TMC rule, smoothly running factories and industries have been closed, while “factories of infiltrators” are flourishing without any restrictions. He reminded the people that Haldia has historically been a prosperous and happy city for centuries; But, in recent years, only locks are seen hanging on the doors of factories here. Then, assuring the public, he detailed his six big guarantees—promises that will be fulfilled if the BJP government is formed.
**Restoration of law and order; **Rule of law:** BJP will end the atmosphere of fear and terror spread by TMC and restore people’s faith in the rule of law in the state.
**Accountability in Service Delivery:** The government machinery will be restructured so that it is fully accountable for serving the public, and ensuring that citizens’ work is completed without any interruption.
**Every file will be re-opened:** Old files related to every scam, every case of corruption and injustice done to women (including rape cases) that happened during the TMC rule will be re-opened for investigation.
**Corrupt people will go to jail:** Those who have looted public money will not be spared at any cost. Modi will not tolerate corruption at all and will ensure that every corrupt person goes to jail.
**Expelling infiltrators:** Illegal infiltrators will not be allowed to live on Indian soil under any circumstances. Strict action will be taken against them.
**Gift for government employees:** Modi and BJP stand strongly with every government employee. As soon as the BJP government is formed in Bengal, the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission will be implemented.
PM Modi said that thanks to ‘PM Matsya Sampada Yojana’ (PM Fish Farming Scheme), there has been a tremendous increase in fish production across the country. Neighboring states like Bihar and Assam have successfully doubled their production; But, the fishermen of Bengal have been left behind. The reason for this is that TMC hates the word ‘PM’ so much that they are deliberately stopping this scheme from being implemented properly. The situation is similar with the ‘Ayushman Bharat’ scheme—which provides free treatment to the elderly—as the TMC is blocking its implementation in Bengal.
In his concluding speech, PM Modi said, “TMC leaders hate me; but, in their blind hatred, they have not even spared the word ‘PM’—it is a position given to me by both the Constitution and the people.” Specifically mentioning the Mahishya community, he assured that the BJP government will not discriminate against anyone and will ensure that every citizen gets their rightful rights as per the Constitution. He stressed that Bengal will soon see the same environment of security and development as is currently seen in other BJP-ruled states.
