New Delhi, April 10 (IANS). Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday congratulated Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on taking oath as a member of the Rajya Sabha. PM Modi praised Nitish Kumar and said that he has made an indelible contribution to the development of Bihar. It would be great to see him in Parliament once again.
He said that I have full confidence that Nitish Kumar’s long political experience will further enhance the dignity of Parliament.
PM Modi wrote on social media platform X, “Nitish Kumar ji is one of the most experienced leaders of the country. His commitment to good governance has been appreciated everywhere. He has made an indelible contribution to the development of Bihar. It would be great to see him in Parliament once again. He has also served as MP and Union Minister for many years. I am confident that his long political experience will further enhance the dignity of Parliament. Hearty congratulations to him on taking oath as Rajya Sabha MP and best wishes for his future tenure.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar took oath as a member of Rajya Sabha. Rajya Sabha Chairman and Vice President CP Radhakrishnan administered the oath as MP of the Upper House in New Delhi. On this occasion, Leader of the House in Rajya Sabha and Union Minister JP Nadda, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Congress’s Jairam Ramesh, JDU and BJP leaders were present.
Along with this, PM Modi also congratulated Harivansh Narayan Singh on becoming a member of Rajya Sabha. PM Modi wrote on social media platform X, “Harivansh ji has made invaluable contribution to journalism and public life. He is a respected intellectual and thinker. He has enriched the proceedings of the House over the years with his profound thoughts and insights. I am happy that the Honorable President has nominated him to the Rajya Sabha. My very best wishes to him for the upcoming parliamentary term.
Harivansh Narayan has been the Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha for the last several years. On completion of his term, he has been nominated to the Rajya Sabha. The Union Home Ministry had issued a notification giving this information.
