Gorakhpur, April 16 (IANS). Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that after 2017, the pace of work of police personnel has increased due to timely recruitment, timely training and development of infrastructure facilities in the police department. As a result, a better security environment was created in the state and an excellent model of good governance was created.
CM Yogi on Thursday addressed the inauguration ceremony of two modern security buildings built for the security of Gorakhnath temple area. In these buildings, the office of Additional Superintendent of Police and Deputy Superintendent of Police, control room, police store room and maintenance workshop related to temple security have been created. Its construction has cost more than Rs 9.18 crore. The Chief Minister also inspected the facilities available in the security buildings.
Addressing the people on this occasion, CM Yogi said that security is the first condition of good governance. Every person needs security. Efforts are made for this at the government level, but we could see only one side of it. Be it a common police constable or Sub-Inspector and Deputy SP, if he does not have training then he will also be a common man. In earlier governments, no attention was paid to recruitment, training and infrastructure facilities. The result was that many youth did not want to join the police recruitment.
While discussing the changes in the police department after 2017, CM Yogi said that when his government came 9 years ago, more than half the posts in the police force were vacant. In the last 9 years, the recruitment process of more than 2 lakh 19 thousand police personnel has been completed. In 2017, the training capacity of the police was not more than 3 thousand at a time, whereas currently, as a result of the development of infrastructure facilities, now 60 thousand police personnel are trained at a time. As a result of timely decisions taken, and timely resources provided, the police has been endowed with 200 times more facilities.
CM Yogi said that earlier, be it police station, outpost, police line or PAC corps, there were no good residential facilities and good barracks for the policemen anywhere. The policeman lived on rent and managed to survive. Many times complaints were received that the police had taken possession of the house. He did not occupy. What used to happen was that his child had exams and at that very moment the landlord would ask him to vacate the house. On this he gets angry and says that he will not vacate the house. Today all these complaints have ended, because the government has provided residential facilities and barracks have been constructed in every police line.
The Chief Minister said that earlier the police station building was built, but barracks were not built in it. Other facilities were also not available. Many times when the police caught a criminal, there was no arrangement to keep him. The police looked helpless on such occasions. Many times the criminal would even run away. But, the police no longer need to become helpless. Now the criminal cannot run away, because facilities have been provided to keep him confined in the police station itself. Now no one can attack the police station, because separate barracks with best facilities have been built for the police personnel in the police station. Adequate number of police personnel will be available in every police station at all times. The policeman will be seen discharging his responsibilities with promptness to complete the work of anyone who tries to breach the security of the police station.
