In today’s world, education alone is not enough to get a good job; It is equally important to have practical work experience. Keeping this in mind, the Central Government has started the Prime Minister Internship Scheme (PM Internship Scheme). Through this initiative, youth get practical work experience along with their studies, which makes it easier for them to get employment in the future. Recently, many new changes have been made in this scheme so that more and more youth can take advantage of it. Let us know about these changes in detail:

What is PM Internship Scheme?
Pradhan Mantri Internship Scheme is an initiative that gives youth an opportunity to do internship in big companies. Due to this, employment opportunities can be easily available in future. This scheme is specifically designed for youth who are currently studying, have recently graduated, want to gain practical work experience, or want to get a strong start to their career.

Who can apply?
Earlier, the age eligibility for this scheme was fixed between 21 to 24 years. But, now the government has increased the age limit from 18 to 25 years. This means more young people are now eligible to take part in the programme. College students, graduates, and youth looking for their first job can all apply for the Prime Minister Internship Scheme.

How much stipend will I get?
Under this scheme, interns will now get a stipend of ₹9,000 every month. Earlier this amount was ₹5,000, but now it has been increased. Of this total amount, 90% will be given by the government, while the remaining 10% will be given by the respective host company. Apart from this, the government will also provide additional financial assistance of ₹6,000, which will be given separately.

how to apply?
The method of applying is very easy. To apply:

Visit the official website of the scheme: https://pminternship.mca.gov.in/
Register yourself on the portal.
Fill the required information (name, educational qualification, age, etc.). Upload the required documents, such as your identity card and educational certificates.
Finally, choose from the list of available companies and internships, and submit your application form. If selected, candidates are given opportunities to do internships in different companies.

Important notes for final year students
If you are in the final year of your college studies, you will need to obtain NOC (No Objection Certificate) from your college while applying.

In which areas will there be opportunities?
So far, more than 300 companies have partnered with the scheme. Apart from this, there will also be internship opportunities in new emerging areas such as renewable energy, semiconductors and Global Capability Centres. The government aims to provide opportunities to 10 million (1 crore) youth in the next five years. PM Internship Scheme 2026 is a great opportunity for the youth, through which they can earn while learning. Therefore, if you want to give a strong start to your career, you must take advantage of this scheme. This can prove to be a big step for your future.
