Bhangarh Fort, Alwar, Rajasthan
This place is also known as “Ghost Town” for the last 500 years. Bhangarh Fort is considered one of the scariest places in the world. It is said that there was once a Tantrik who practiced black magic, he fell in love with the princess of Bhangarh in the early 1600s.
He tried to give her a magical potion with which she would unite with him and marry him. But the princess came to know about this and threw that potion, then the Tantrik cursed the entire village and within a short time Bhangarh was destroyed by the attack of the rivals.
Even the Government of India has put up a board and it is strictly prohibited to visit Bhangarh Fort in the dark. He who goes into darkness never comes back.
Dow Hill, West Bengal
According to local people, the small hill station of Dow Hill, the surrounding forests and the nearby Victoria Boys School are haunted by terrifying ghosts. Several accidents and murders have occurred in the forest here, and the ghosts of various children have been seen.
The most common is a headless boy who roams the woods and chases people. Constant shouting, laughter and footsteps can be heard in the school. Even during holidays and weekends there is no one around.
Dumas Beach, Surat, Gujarat
Just 25 km from Surat, the biggest food hub, Dumas Sea Beach is among the most haunted places in India. It is said and it is true that many years ago people used this place as a cremation ground.

One of the largest film complexes in India, Ramoji Film Studio is also said to be home to various spirits that haunt the area and around the hotel. One is built on a battlefield and is believed to be surrounded by the spirits of dead soldiers who are still active on the field.

There is a well near D’Souza Chawl which is a symbol of fear. It is said that a woman fell and died while filling water in the well located in this chawl. People say that since then this woman comes to the well every night. Although it does not harm anyone. People avoid going out here at night.
Tunnel No. 33, Borag, Shimla
It is said that a British railway engineer committed suicide due to his miscalculation in digging this tunnel. He divided his workers and instructed them to start digging the tunnel from both sides, and the tunnel would meet in the middle.
But, his calculations went wrong and the British government fined him. When he went for a walk with his dog he became depressed and shot himself. His body was buried near the tunnel, and many say that his spirit is still in the tunnel.
