Sriganganagar/Jaipur. In the border district of Rajasthan, Sriganganagar, the police have succeeded in seizing a huge consignment of weapons and narcotics by carrying out a film-style operation. This major success has been achieved under the special operation being run in the border area on the instructions of Director General of Police Rajiv Kumar Sharma.
Based on the information received by Constable Kaluram, the police started the siege. A suspicious Kia Sonet car, while trying to escape, hit the police Bolero vehicle and ran fast towards Sameja Kothi. The police showed promptness and blocked the road by placing a tractor-trolley outside the town. While trying to break the blockade, the speeding car hit the tractor, after which the police surrounded them and caught both the accused. During the search, a bag was found in the car, in which a huge cache of weapons and drugs was hidden:
Weapons: 05 illegal pistols and 72 live cartridges.
Narcotics: 1 kg 494 grams heroin and 990 grams opium.
Smugglers from Punjab arrested, both the arrested accused are residents of the neighboring state of Punjab:
Kulwinder Singh son of Karnail Singh (Fazilka, Punjab)
Robin Singh s/o Balkar Singh (Fazilka, Punjab)
Constables Surajbhan and Kaluram played a special role in this action under the direction of SP Harishankar. A case has been registered against the accused under serious sections. This is being considered a major blow to the Sriganganagar Police on the network of cross-border smuggling and crime.
