Kolkata, May 9 (IANS). For the first time, the Bharatiya Janata Party government is going to be formed in West Bengal and the swearing-in ceremony to be held on Saturday morning is considered to add a historic chapter in the politics of the state. BJP legislature party leader and the next Chief Minister of the state Suvendu Adhikari said that this ceremony to be held in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi will prove to be a ‘historic dawn’ for Bengal.
Suvendu Adhikari said that this swearing-in ceremony will mark the end of 15 years of Trinamool Congress rule and the beginning of a new era of development, peace and prosperity. He said that now with the BJP government both at the Center and in the state, the path of ‘double engine’ development will open in Bengal and the dream of ‘Sonar Bangla’ will come true.
In his message released on social media, Suvendu Adhikari wrote that this is a historic moment of pride and enthusiasm for West Bengal. It is a moment of immense pride and joy for us to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the ‘City of Joy’. For the first time after independence, BJP government is being formed in Bengal, which is like fulfilling the dreams of the founding leaders. He said that today decades of alleged misgovernance are coming to an end and a new era of development, peace and prosperity is beginning.
Former West Bengal Governor CV Anand Bose will administer the oath to the new cabinet in the swearing-in ceremony to be held at the Brigade Parade Ground in Kolkata. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, several Chief Ministers of BJP ruled states, Union Cabinet members and many senior party leaders are being present at the ceremony.
During this ceremony it will also become clear who will be included in the new cabinet along with Suvendu Adhikari. The new government will function from the old secretariat Writers Building in Kolkata while former Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee worked from Nabanna Secretariat in Howrah district.
Suvendu Adhikari has already made it clear that his government will run on the basis of ‘collective leadership’. He said that the state will not be run only by ‘I’, but by ‘we’ together. Also, new momentum will be given to the development of Bengal through better coordination between the Center and the State.
