Abu Dhabi. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the first leg of his five-nation tour. Guard of honor was given to PM Modi at the airport here. In the presence of Prime Minister Modi and UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the two countries exchanged the MoU, which also covers strategic petroleum reserves. In delegation-level talks with UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, PM Modi said that the way your Air Force ships escorted today is an honor to the people of India. Recently, I am very grateful to you for expressing your condolences to the families of the victims who faced problems in some areas due to the natural disaster.
On the current situation in the Middle East, PM Modi said that we strongly condemn the attacks on UAE. The way UAE has been targeted is not acceptable in any way. The patience and courage you have shown in these difficult circumstances is highly commendable. We congratulate the steps taken under your leadership in maintaining national unity, security and territorial integrity.
He said that the impact of the war situation in the West Asia region is visible on the entire world today. India has always given priority to dialogue and diplomacy to resolve issues. Keeping the Strait of Hormuz free, open and secure is our biggest priority. In this case, it is mandatory to follow international laws. India stands shoulder to shoulder with UAE in every situation and will continue to do so in future also. India is ready to provide all possible assistance for restoration of peace and stability at the earliest.
PM Modi wrote on social media platform X, ‘I thank my brother, UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his special gesture of welcoming me at Abu Dhabi Airport. I look forward to our talks to further advance India-UAE relations in energy, investment, supply chain and other key areas.”
