The impact of ongoing tensions in the Middle East is no longer limited to crude oil only; Its pressure is now being felt on LPG and other petroleum products also. Meanwhile, after petrol and diesel prices were increased twice in India, fuel prices have increased in many states. As a result, people are now wondering: Have LPG gas cylinder prices also increased?
Till May 20 – that is, till today, Wednesday – there has been no change in the prices of domestic LPG cylinders. According to Indane, the prices of a standard 14.2 kg domestic cylinder remain the same in different cities. While there has been no change in the prices of domestic LPG cylinders, the price of a 19 kg commercial cylinder has crossed ₹ 3,000 in many areas, which is impacting the hotel and commercial sector. Prices may increase in the coming times
Although the prices are stable now, there is a possibility that the prices of LPG cylinders may increase in the coming months. The main reason for this is the rising prices of crude oil and gas in the international market. Energy markets have become volatile due to ongoing tensions in the Middle East and its impact on supply chains. India’s state-owned oil companies – Indian Oil Corporation, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum – review LPG prices on the 1st of every month.
