New Delhi, June 4 (IANS). The action of investigating agencies has intensified regarding Huzaifa Farooq Ahmed Hashmi, arrested for alleged links with ISI and Mumbai underworld module. The accused, arrested in a joint operation by Delhi Police Special Cell and Maharashtra ATS, was produced in Delhi’s Patiala House Court on Thursday, where the court sent him to 5-day police custody.
During the hearing, the Special Cell of Delhi Police sought 5-day remand of Huzaifa Farooq Ahmed Hashmi from the court. Police told the court that preliminary investigation revealed that the accused had sent his QR code to his contacts in Pakistan, through which money was transferred to his account.
According to the police, Huzaifa was in contact with Yawar Khan, who was in Pakistan for the last one month. The investigating agencies claim that he had received an amount of about Rs 1 lakh through this network. The police also told the court that many important revelations are yet to be made in the case and some other people can also be arrested on the basis of interrogation.
The Special Cell said that it is also necessary to interrogate Huzaifa face to face with the accused already arrested in this case, so that information about the entire network and its contacts can be gathered.
According to sources, Huzaifa was also trying to connect other youth to this network. He had allegedly told some people that Pakistani gangsters active on Instagram give money to people in exchange for various works. The investigating agencies are also investigating this aspect in depth.
It is noteworthy that in a joint action, Special Cell of Delhi Police and Maharashtra ATS had arrested Huzaifa Farooq Ahmed Hashmi from Mumbai. He is accused of being in touch with Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI and the alleged terrorist network linked to the Mumbai underworld module.
At present, the investigating agencies are thoroughly interrogating the accused and are busy investigating his financial transactions, digital activities and possible network links.
