Jodhpur. Another case of fighting between prisoners has come to light in the Central Jail, due to which questions have been raised on the security arrangements of the jail administration. Based on the report of victim undertrial Ramesh, Ratanada police station has registered a case against three named prisoners. According to the police, the incident is said to have taken place on June 3. In this case, allegations of assault and mutual dispute have been made against prisoners Sitaram, Ramprakash and Shyamlal. It has been said in the complaint that after an altercation between the prisoners inside the jail premises, the dispute escalated and an incident of fighting took place. It is noteworthy that such incidents have been happening in the Central Jail earlier also. The situation has deteriorated many times due to mutual tension and fights among the prisoners, in which the police has had to intervene.
Police say that the matter is being seriously investigated and further legal action will be taken based on the facts. At the same time, the pressure on the jail administration to further tighten surveillance and security arrangements has increased.
This incident has once again raised questions regarding the security, monitoring and correctional system of prisoners in jails.
