Haridwar. On International Yoga Day, the Yoga campaign of All World Gayatri Parivar became visible at the global level. In 80 countries including India, yoga instructors of Devsanskrit University and volunteers of Gayatri Parivar organized group yoga practice, Pragya Yoga Sadhana and public awareness programs. At Shantikunj in Haridwar, thousands of devotees from different states of the country practiced yoga as per the international yoga protocol and resolved to adopt yoga as a way of life. On this occasion, motivational messages of yoga, spiritual practice and cultural awareness were also broadcasted from various Pragya Kendras in the country and abroad. Addressing the program organized at Shantikunj, the youth representative of All World Gayatri Parivar, Dr. Chinmoy Pandya said that Yoga is not just a physical exercise, asana or a method of disease prevention, but is the highest peak of spiritual knowledge. He said that if the purpose of yoga was only to cure disease, then it would be no different from any ordinary medical method. Yoga makes a person’s consciousness upward and takes him on the path of self-development and public welfare. Describing Pragya Yoga propounded by Yugarishi Pt. Shriram Sharma Acharya as a holistic solution to the challenges of the present era, Dr. Pandya said that every action of life – speaking, walking, sitting, eating and even sleeping – if done with full awareness and skill, then it becomes Yoga.
