Lucknow. A massive fire broke out in a private coaching center in Purnia area of Aliganj area of Lucknow on Monday, in which the death toll increased to 15. CM Yogi Adityanath reached the spot and took stock of the situation and met the injured in the hospital. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath canceled all his scheduled programs in Aligarh and left for Lucknow and reached the spot. He took stock of the relief work and reiterated the call for better treatment of the injured. He said that the first priority of the government is to provide the best treatment to the injured. The reasons for the incident will be known only after the investigation report comes. After the incident, CM Yogi reached KGMU Trauma Center, where he met the people injured in the fire.
Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, who was present at the spot, said that 14 children died in the accident and four injured children have been admitted to KGMU Trauma Centre. A high level inquiry into the matter has been ordered.
The injured are being treated at the Trauma Center of King George Medical University (KGMU).
KGMU Vice-Chancellor Professor Sonia Nityanand said that the entire team of doctors is busy saving the injured in the Aliganj fire. He said that conducting Panchnama and post-mortem of those who have died is a necessary process, which has been started.
Dr. Prem Raj Singh of CMS Trauma Center said, “A total of 21 people have come to the hospital, out of which the condition of 6 people is stable. The rest have been brought dead. We are sending them to Marchari after getting their Panchnama done.” He clarified that there is a bed reserve in the hospital and there is no shortage of medicines or beds.
According to eyewitnesses, smoke was suddenly seen rising from the building in the afternoon. Within a short time the fire spread rapidly and engulfed the entire building. The smoke caused panic among the students and many children jumped from height to save their lives. As soon as the information was received, teams of fire department, police and administration reached the spot.
DGP Rajiv Krishna, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Sanjay Prasad, District Magistrate and other senior officials were present at the spot. Fire brigade personnel tried to reach inside by breaking the back wall of the building and conducted relief and rescue operations.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed deep sorrow over the accident. He said that the incident is extremely painful and the culprits will not be spared at any cost. CM Yogi has instructed the officials to speed up the relief and rescue work and provide proper treatment to the injured. Apart from this, after conducting a detailed investigation into the causes of the accident, orders have also been given to take strict action against those responsible.
