Uttarakhand News: During the high level meeting held at the Secretariat, Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami directed the officials to conduct a comprehensive fire safety audit of all the hospitals, coaching centres, big malls, hotels, commercial establishments and other public use buildings across the state. He said that public safety is one of the top priorities of the state government and any kind of negligence in following fire safety standards will not be accepted.
The Chief Minister directed the officials to immediately identify the institutions where fire fighting arrangements are not in accordance with the prescribed standards and ensure necessary corrective action. He said that the functionality of fire safety equipment, emergency exit routes, electrical safety systems and preparations for quick evacuation in case of disaster should be specially tested.
The Chief Minister directed the officials to complete the audit process in a time bound manner by establishing coordination between the fire department, district administration and related departments.
