Thiruvananthapuram, June 23 (IANS). Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya participated in the ‘Cycling by the Sea’ program on Tuesday. In this program organized under the ‘Fit India Movement’, the Union Minister cycled from Chakka ITI in Thiruvananthapuram, the capital of Kerala, to Sankumugham Beach. More than 250 members of the local cycling club participated in the event.
Mansukh Mandaviya has given information about this program by sharing a video post on his X account.
Speaking on the occasion, Mandaviya said, “Cycling in Thiruvananthapuram was a great experience. More than 250 young members of the local club participated in the event.”
The Union Minister said that if you want to keep yourself healthy and active, then ride a bicycle regularly. Cycling is important not only for our health but also for environmental protection. This also saves fuel and also reduces pollution.
Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has played a big role in turning cycling into a nationwide campaign and has inspired citizens to adopt it from the health and environment point of view.
Wishing everyone on Olympic Day, the Sports Minister wrote on his Instagram: “Happy Olympic Day to all. We are celebrating the Olympic values of excellence, friendship and respect. It inspires millions of people around the world.”
Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Sports Minister wrote, “Under the leadership of PM Modi, India is witnessing a sports revolution that has never happened before. His leadership has strengthened athletes and inspired even ordinary citizens to make sports a part of life.”
Sports Minister Mandaviya also wished the players all the best for the upcoming big sporting events Asian Games and Commonwealth Games and expressed hope that the country’s athletes will perform brilliantly in both the events.
