Chhattisgarh News: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai met Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi on Wednesday and discussed various issues related to the development, public welfare and health sector of the state. During this, the Chief Minister raised the demand for the establishment of All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) in Chhattisgarh. State Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma was also present in the meeting.
Ayurveda research and medicine will get a new dimension
The Chief Minister told the Home Minister that the All India Ayurveda Institutes operating in New Delhi and Panaji have become major centers of Ayurveda-based medicine, research and innovation. These institutions have given a new direction to health services through the coordination of modern science and traditional medical systems. Besides, a large number of expert Ayurveda doctors and researchers are being trained here.
Chhattisgarh is full of medicinal wealth
Chief Minister Sai said that Chhattisgarh is a state rich in natural resources and medicinal plants. A large part of the state is covered with forest cover, where rare herbs and medicinal plants are found in abundance. Apart from this, tribal areas also have a rich heritage of traditional medical knowledge. In such a situation, the establishment of AIIA here can make an important contribution in the field of Ayurveda medicine and research.
Youth will get new opportunities
The Chief Minister said that with the establishment of the institute, better health facilities will be available to the people of the state. Besides, the youth will get opportunities for study, teaching and research in national level institutions. This will promote Ayurveda education and Chhattisgarh will be able to create a new identity in the field of health, education and research.
Central India will also benefit
The Chief Minister also said that the benefits of AIIA will not be limited to Chhattisgarh only, but people from other states of Central India will also be able to get high level Ayurvedic treatment and research facilities. He requested to give Chhattisgarh one of the three new All India Ayurveda Institutes announced in the Union Budget 2026.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister also shared information about the ongoing development works and public welfare schemes in remote areas of the state including Bastar.
