Balaghat Bear Killing: A very painful incident of cruelty towards wildlife has come to light from Khairlanji Forest Range of Balaghat district of Madhya Pradesh. In Pipartola Village of Bhandarbodi Circle, hunters brutally killed an adult male bear and cut its body into six pieces. After this, with the intention of destroying the evidence, the body parts were thrown into a well in the field.
After the information about the incident came to light, there was panic among the Forest Department and the villagers. The department has registered a case against unknown accused and started investigation.
Animal remains seen in the well
According to the information, farmer Jiyalal Dhurve of Pipertola village had reached his field on Saturday morning to sow paddy. During this time, when he looked inside the well built in the field, he saw the remains of a dead animal.
After this he immediately informed the Forest Department. As soon as the information was received, Forest Range Officer D.C. Wasnik (DC Wasnik) reached the spot with his team. When the body parts were taken out from the well, the officials and villagers present there were stunned to see this horrific scene.

Initial investigation by the forest department revealed that the dead wildlife was an adult male bear. The hunters had severed his head and also cut off all four of his legs.
Not only this, the nails of both the front toes were also found missing. Officials believe that this is a case of planned hunting. It is suspected that the accused cut the body into pieces with the intention of destroying the evidence, threw them in the well and fled away.
Interrogation of suspects continues
Considering the seriousness of the incident, senior forest officials were immediately informed. Dog Squad team also reached the spot and worked to collect evidence. The surrounding area was also thoroughly investigated.
The postmortem conducted by veterinary doctors revealed that the bear had died about 24 to 48 hours ago. After the post-mortem, the forest department also performed the last rites of the bear.

The Forest Department has registered a case against unknown accused under the Wildlife Protection Act 1972. Officials say that efforts are being made to identify the accused on the basis of dog squad report, post-mortem report and other technical evidence.
According to the department, some suspicious people are also being interrogated and it is hoped that soon the entire matter will be revealed and the accused will be arrested.
