According to the Panchang, Yogini Ekadashi Tithi will start on July 10 at 8:16 am, while it will end on July 11 at 5:00 am. According to Udaya Tithi, household devotees will observe fast on July 10, while devotees following Vaishnav tradition will observe Yogini Ekadashi fast on July 11. The fast will be broken after worshiping Lord Vishnu on Dwadashi Tithi.

According to the story, Hemamali neglected his duties and misused the material for worshiping God, due to which he was punished with a serious illness. After suffering for a long time, on the instructions of Devarshi Narad, he observed Yogini Ekadashi fast with devotion and regularity. Due to the effect of fasting, he got relief from the disease and was able to regain his divine form. For this reason, this Ekadashi is considered a special festival of atonement for sins and self-purification.
