Leader of Opposition in Rajasthan Assembly, Shri Tikaram Julie has expressed deep sorrow and intense anger over the continuous deaths of pregnant women in the government hospitals of the state. He said that Rajasthan is currently going through the biggest health emergency in its history. This is the height of insensitivity of the government that while the entire state is in shock due to the death of 5 pregnant women in just 6 days in Bhilwara, on the other hand, the Health Minister of the state is busy sitting in public in a public program and eating mangoes and enjoying it. These heartbreaking news of untimely deaths of mothers and sisters coming from one district after another are extremely serious and disturbing, which has exposed the inhuman face of the government.
Taking on the state government and the Health Minister, Julie said that this is the time for the entire government to introspect and think very seriously as to why such a bad situation has arisen in Rajasthan. He said that in the state whose health systems were once an example for the country, today the same government hospitals are proving to be a disaster for our mothers. After the deaths in Kota, Bikaner and the spread of the disease in Jodhpur, now the death of 5 pregnant women in Bhilwara within just 6 days is a direct and living proof that the health system of Rajasthan has completely reached the ventilator level.
Addressing the Chief Minister directly, Tikaram Julie said, Chief Minister, how much more will Rajasthan endure? The mothers and sisters of the state are not part of any laboratory that they should pay with their lives for the failure and negligence of the government system. The biggest reality of your two-and-a-half year tenure is this insensitivity. When the state’s hospitals become centers of death instead of saving lives and not a single word of consolation or action comes from the mouth of the head of the state, then there can be nothing more shameful than this.
The Leader of Opposition has strongly demanded from the Chief Minister that he should immediately give up all his political tours and excursions, take this horror on priority and immediately call a high-level emergency meeting and take concrete steps to stop this tragedy.
