New Delhi. It is no longer easy to register names in the voter list, remove names or change any information. The Election Commission has started an e-sign system. Under which the applicant will have to verify his identity using the mobile number related to his Aadhaar. Earlier, Form 6, Form 7 and Form 8 could be filled without verification without applicant. Recently, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had alleged that other people tried to remove the names of the voters.
To name the voter list, the Election Commission has to give Form 6. At the same time, to remove the name from the voter list, Form 7 and Form 8 have to be filled for improvement. Now e-sign will be required if any of these forms are filled online. On the ECINET.Eci.gov.in portal of the Election Commission, the one who fills this form will have to see that there should be a mobile number in the name of Aadhaar card. After which the applist will send the portal of the Election Commission to the e-sign portal. Where the applicant has to enter his Aadhaar number. Due to this process, no other person will be able to get the voter’s name added, neither can apply to remove the name nor make any information related to the voter.
The Election Commission has started this process of e-sign for the verification of voters after the allegations were made by Rahul Gandhi in the past. Rahul Gandhi had alleged a press conference in the past that other people had applied to the Election Commission to remove the names of the voters in Aland, Karnataka. In this way, applications were made to remove about 6000 names. On this allegation of Rahul Gandhi, the Election Commission while checking the fact had replied that it has filed an FIR in the case of Arat. The Election Commission said that someone’s name is removed from the voter list only after a thorough investigation. The Commission had said that every application to remove the name in Aland was also examined and the names of the voters were removed only after found to be correct.
