Patna . Jan Suraj founder Prashant Kishore filed his nomination papers for the Bankipur assembly by-election in Bihar on Monday. Before nomination, he took out a march from the Scouts and Guide grounds to the Collectorate, in which a large number of party workers, supporters and local people participated. The march started from Scout and Guide Ground and reached the Collectorate via Kotwali Police Station, Dak Bungalow Square, SP Verma Road, JP Golambar and Gandhi Maidan. During this, the supporters raised various slogans including “Ladenge Bankipur, Jeetenge Bankipur”. People also welcomed him at various places on the way. Keeping in view the security arrangements, police force was deployed. Talking to the media after filing the nomination, Prashant Kishore said that this is not just his personal nomination, but a nomination for the better future of Bihar. He said, “This is not my nomination, this is the nomination of the changing picture in Bihar. This is the nomination of a better future of Bihar and a call to the criminals in Bihar to leave the chair. This is the beginning of change.”
He said that Bankipur is not the stronghold of any party or leader, but the stronghold of the people here. Only the public will decide who will represent this area. According to him, this by-election is not just an election to elect an MLA, but an opportunity for change of leadership in Bihar.
Prashant Kishore said that this election is to curb the arrogance of BJP in Bihar. He also said that this is also a fight to make the elected representatives accountable to the public. He claimed that the people of Bihar now want politics on the issues of development, education, employment and better governance.
Political activity has intensified regarding the Bankipur Assembly by-election. Major political parties have fielded their candidates and the election campaign has also gained momentum. In such a situation, the contest on this seat is being considered important from the politics of the state.
