New Delhi, July 15 (IANS). Former BJP MP Subrata Pathak expressed his frank opinion on many issues including the 131st Constitution Amendment Bill, delimitation, opposition’s allegations on Ram Mandir donation controversy, the recent decision of the Supreme Court on Bhojshala controversy. He said that the objective of the central government is to strengthen democracy and society. At the same time, the opposition is unnecessarily trying to create political controversy.

On the issue of 131st Constitutional Amendment Bill and delimitation, Subrata Pathak said that the government will do whatever is necessary in the interest of the country and society. Referring to the bill related to women, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has already made his resolve clear. Last time this bill could not be passed due to opposition, but the government is committed to bringing it again. There will be no surprise if this bill is passed by Parliament this time.

Rejecting the opposition’s allegations on the controversy related to theft of Ram Mandir donation, he said that the incident of theft in Ram Mandir is highly condemnable, but the BJP government has taken the matter seriously and formed SIT, registered FIR against the accused and sent them to jail and recovery action is also going on. If the investigation reveals involvement of any other person, action will be taken against him also. During this, while attacking Congress and Samajwadi Party, he said that the political parties which once raised questions on the existence of Lord Ram, are today doing politics in the name of Ram temple. Referring to the old affidavit of Congress and statements of Samajwadi Party leaders, he said that the opposition should first clarify whether it accepts the existence of Ram temple in Ayodhya or not. The aim of the opposition is only to take political advantage.

Responding to the decision to ban non-vegetarian food in the hostels of King George’s Medical University (KGMU), Subrata Pathak said that it is a matter within the jurisdiction of the university administration and the Governor. The decision taken under the leadership of Governor Anandiben Patel comes under the administrative rights of the university.

On the recent order of the Supreme Court in the Bhojshala case, he said that if any other community has to be given space for puja or namaz, then arrangements can be made outside the Bhojshala premises. There is a temple inside the Bhojshala and if namaz is allowed inside the temple then similar arrangements should be implemented in other religious places also.

He also completely rejected the opposition’s allegations of political use of constitutional institutions. He said that the parties which themselves have been using institutions for politics for a long time, now see politics in every action. The BJP government is not misusing constitutional institutions but is working as per the law.

He also reacted to the political speculations being made after the meeting of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leaders Jayant Patil and Sunil Tatkare in Maharashtra with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. He said that such discussions are taking place due to the continuous political failures of the opposition and the weakness of the Congress leadership. Several attempts were made to establish Rahul Gandhi as a national leader, but he was not successful. Not only the country, the world also believes in the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and due to his popularity the opposition is continuously becoming weak. The political speculations being made regarding the meetings in Maharashtra are baseless and have no connection with reality.
