Ahmedabad, July 16 (IANS). Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel monitored the activities and management of the 149th Jagannath Rath Yatra in Ahmedabad city in real time by watching the live telecast on the CM Dashboard video wall of the Chief Minister’s residence.
The Chief Minister flagged off the Rath Yatra after performing the pahinda ceremony from Jagannath Temple on Thursday morning. Then in the afternoon, he reached the Chief Minister’s residence and inspected the route of the Rath Yatra on the video wall. He took detailed information about the status of the Rath Yatra, the monitoring of the Rath Yatra by the police using AI and drone technology and the security arrangements.
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel was accompanied by Chief Secretary MK Das, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister and Home Department Sanjeev Kumar, Director General of Police GS Malik along with officials of the police and municipal corporation team.
The Chief Minister posted on the social media platform ‘X’, “Jai Jagannath. On the auspicious occasion of Ashadhi Beej, I had the privilege of performing the ‘Pahind’ ritual of the 149th Rath Yatra in Ahmedabad with full devotion and flagging off the chariot of Lord Shri Jagannath. This Triveni confluence of faith, trust and devotion is wonderful.”
He wrote, “While bowing at the feet of Lord Shri Jagannath, I wish happiness, prosperity, good health and continued progress for the citizens of Gujarat and the country.”
In another post, CM Bhupendra Patel wrote, “The fifth Rath Yatra organized by Shri Jagannath Cultural Academy and Research Center in Adalaj was inaugurated with religious rituals. After completing the traditional pahad ceremony with gold-trimmed savarni, the chariot of Lord Jagannath was sent for a city tour. On this occasion, a large number of devotees, leaders of the society and brothers and sisters associated with Odisha took advantage of the darshan. There was an atmosphere of devotion and enthusiasm during the event, which gave everyone a feeling of spiritual bliss.”
