Traveling on the national highways passing through Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan, has now become expensive. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has increased the toll tax rates at major toll plazas located around Jaipur. The new rates have come into effect from 12 midnight last night. This increase will affect private vehicles as well as trucks, buses, lorries and other commercial vehicles. After the implementation of the new rates, thousands of drivers passing through these routes every day will have to pay higher toll fees than before.
Rates increased at these toll plazas
NHAI has revised the rates of Manoharpur Toll Plaza located on Jaipur-Delhi (Old Highway), Sitarampura Toll Plaza of Ajmer-Agra Connecting Ring Road and Tatiyawas Toll Plaza located on Jaipur-Sikar Bypass. Apart from this, increase in toll fee has also been implemented at Shahjahanpur Toll Plaza.
Additional burden of Rs 5 to Rs 20 on car drivers
According to the information received from Manoharpur Toll Plaza, the toll fee for private vehicles like car, jeep and van has been increased by Rs 5. Whereas, for light commercial vehicle, mini truck, tempo, bus, truck and other heavy commercial vehicles, the toll fee has been increased from Rs 5 to Rs 30. New rates will be applicable according to the category of vehicle.
Highest increase on Shahjahanpur toll
The highest increase has been made for private vehicles at Shahjahanpur toll plaza. Here, one-way toll for car, jeep and van has been increased from Rs 195 to Rs 215. That means drivers will now have to pay an extra Rs 20.
Operating expenses on commercial vehicles will increase
The increase in toll charges is likely to impact goods trucks, buses and other commercial vehicles the most. People associated with the transport business say that increasing toll fees will increase operating costs, which may also impact the cost of freight and transport services.
NHAI implemented new rates
The revised toll rates by NHAI have been made effective from midnight. Fees are being charged as per the new rates at all concerned toll plazas. Drivers have been advised to travel only after getting information about the new toll rates before travelling, so that they do not have to face any inconvenience. A large number of private and commercial vehicles pass through the national highways in and around Jaipur every day. In such a situation, this increase in toll rates will have a direct impact on the pockets of millions of passengers and people associated with the transport business.
