New Delhi, July 23 (IANS). Modern lifestyle, decreasing physical activity and the habit of working sitting at one place for hours has affected our core strength and digestive system the most. In such a situation, ‘Nauka Sanchalasana’ is a very effective yoga practice.
‘Nauka Sanchalanasana’ is a Sanskrit word, which is made up of ‘Nauka’ (boat), ‘Sanchalana’ and ‘Easy’ posture. This is an asana based on mobility, which strengthens the abdominal muscles and also infuses new energy into the body.
To do this, sit on the mat with both legs extended straight in front (in Dandasana posture). Clench your fist as if you were holding the oar of a boat. Keeping the arms straight, move the body backwards as far as possible and feel the stretch at the navel. Bend forward from the waist and move your hands in circular motion towards your toes, just like you would paddle while rowing a boat. Repeat this circular process 8 to 10 times (cycles). After this, repeat the process in the opposite direction also 8 to 10 times. Pregnant women (especially in the second and third trimester), people suffering from slipped disc or serious spine problems, and those who have undergone abdominal or hip surgery should avoid doing this asana.
According to the Ministry of AYUSH, this asana is an excellent micro exercise, which stretches, strengthens and flexes the entire body. This exercise activates the abdomen, waist, pelvis, lower back, legs, chest, shoulders and hips. This improves body balance, increases strength and also improves self-confidence. By doing regular exercises, the body becomes more flexible and the range of motion of the joints also improves. By doing this, blood circulation in the body starts increasing. Also, the toxins present in the body come out.
If a person is struggling with a health problem like insomnia, then this asana is very beneficial for you. Its regular practice increases concentration and keeps the nervous system calm.
