New Delhi, July 25 (IANS). The Central government on Saturday appealed to passengers to share their personal or travel-related information only after carefully checking the official website of ‘Air Suvidha 2.0’, as some fake websites are misleading people.
The Civil Aviation Ministry said that some fake websites and portals, posing as official in the name of Air Suvidha 2.0, are sending passengers to the payment gateway.
“Passengers are informed that the services of Air Suvidha 2.0 are completely free of cost and there is no need to make any payment for submitting the self-declaration form. The only official portal of Air Suvidha 2.0 is https://airsuvidha.civilaviation.gov.in/,” the ministry said.
The ministry further said that passengers should carefully check the URL of the website before sharing their personal or travel related information and avoid making payment on any unauthorized website claiming to offer Air Suvidha 2.0 service.
“Passengers are requested to use only the official portal and rely only on official government notifications for correct information,” the ministry said.
Last month, the Civil Aviation Ministry had launched ‘Air Suvidha 2.0’ in collaboration with Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL). It is a completely contactless passenger health self-declaration portal, developed with the aim to strengthen public health surveillance at international entry points into India in view of the current outbreak of Ebola infection.
The innovative platform was launched after the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the Ebola/Bundibugyo virus disease outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and Uganda on May 17 as a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC).
According to the government, this portal has been designed in such a way that health monitoring of passengers coming to India can be done effectively and they get a smooth and hassle-free experience.
Officials said that through the new system, passenger data can be shared in real-time with multiple agencies including airport health officers, Bureau of Immigration, Integrated Disease Surveillance Program (IDSP) and state surveillance officers.
This integrated data sharing system will enable rapid identification of passengers who may be at risk of infection. After this, they can be examined, monitored and necessary public health measures can be taken in time.
The ministry said that the entire process has been made seamless and completely contactless, so that passengers will not be required to fill any physical declaration form upon reaching India.
