Tehran, July 26 (IANS). Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Husseini Khamenei said in a letter to Hezbollah Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassim on Sunday that Iran’s support for Hezbollah is a “strategic responsibility.”
In response to the Hezbollah chief’s letter in which he reiterated his allegiance to Iran, Mojtaba Khamenei praised the organization.
He said Hezbollah stands ‘like a strong rock’ against Israel’s ‘fierce aggression’, he said, according to Iran’s state news agency Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).
“In accordance with the policy set by the great martyr leader of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Seyyed Ali Khamenei (God bless him), the Islamic Republic of Iran considers the protection of these oppressed but powerful Mujahedin as its strategic responsibility,” Khamenei said in his letter.
He said that the letter sent by Hezbollah is worthy of praise and respect.
He said that last week Mojtaba Khamenei had said that America’s violation of the recent peace agreement (MoU) with Iran once again proves that US President Donald Trump’s signature is worthless and invalid.
He made this statement in a message issued to the Iranian people, which was published by the media there. In this he talked about important issues of the country.
Khamenei said that the US’s repeated violations of the MOU once again proved that the US President’s signature has no value.
He said that America has ‘once again shown its true face.’ He said that this experience of crimes and broken promises is further proof that America lies and its attitude is unbelievable, irrational and wrong.
Khamenei warned that if the US continues its war-like policies and tries to put more pressure on Iran, it should expect a response from Iran and the ‘resistance front’ that it will never forget.
