India’s first AI chip was observed at the T-Chap Semcon Constitution Summit held in Hyderabad. This chip is fully made up of Indian technology. It is considered a major achievement as it will be a big step towards making India self -sufficient in the sector of semiconductor. This chip is built in Telangana.
IIT, Hyderabad innovator Dinesh told ANI that this is India’s first AI chip, which is completely based on Indian technology. This chip is not only for hardware, but the entire software system is also designed. That is, this chip combines everything from software to hardware together. This chip is capable of processing and keeping the AI fast.
Team of less than 10 people did wonders
A small team of less than 10 people worked on this chip. Dinesh said, ‘Why should we depend on foreign companies like Nvidia or Qualcomm? Why can’t we make such companies in India? ‘ Let us tell you that these are the legendary companies in the world, which supply chips to many countries. However, India’s neighboring country China has been preparing itself for chip for some time. India can also move forward in this direction.
AI hardware will be available at cheap prices
Dinesh believes that through this chip, startups and educational institutions in India will get AI hardware at cheap prices. He said, ‘Hardware like NVIDIA or Intel is very expensive, due to which our money goes abroad. We can become self -sufficient by making our cheap and better hardware. ‘ This chip will not only reduce the cost, but will also strengthen India in the technical field.
Telangana government will promote chip construction
The Telangana government wants to further strengthen its role in India’s semiconductor industry. State IT Minister Sridhar Babu said that Telangana wants to take his talent in chip design now in chip construction. He says that there is already a talent of chip design in Telangana, now the next step is to start construction of chip. The minister said that the Telangana government has made several policies to promote the semiconductor industry. These include giving subsidy.
