UP State Women’s Commission Chairman Dr. Babita Singh Chauhan has said that at present, big festivals like Navratri, Durga Puja, Dussehra and Deepawali are being celebrated with pomp and reverence in the entire state.
Various cultural and religious programs like Garba, Dandia, Rasleela are organized on these occasions, in which a large number of women, girls and families join and bring social and cultural traditions to life. Therefore, action should be taken by identifying such a suspect.
In this regard, the Women’s Commission has asked all administrative and police officers to ensure that entry should be given to the participants and attendees in all such programs only after showing valid identity cards. The Commission has also expected that security arrangements should be strengthened by coordinating between the program organizers, administration and police departments, so that women and families can be relaxed and participate in the festive tradition of festivals.
