Mahindra & Mahindra Limited today launched the updated Thar in the Indian market at an initial price of Rs 9.99 lakh. It has new designs elements, better comfortable features and smart technology. With its best capacity and classic design, the ‘Thar’ brand has already formed a strong community of over 3 lakh owners. At the same time, its top variant comes for Rs 16.99 lakh.
Nalinikanth Golagunta, CEO of Automotive Division of Mahindra & Mahindra Limited, said that in the last few years, Thar has not been just an SUV, but has become a symbol of freedom, adventure and lifestyle, which is deeply connected to customers. He told that Mahindra always changes the needs of his customers accordingly, and the new Thar is an example of this. It has new designs, smart techniques, better comfort and facilities keeping in mind the reaction of customers.
The exterior of the new Thar has stylish front grille, dual-tone front bumper and 18-inch alloy wheels, giving it a strong and different look. Inside, the new black theme dashboard and a completely new steering wheel make the interior more premium. This SUV now comes in six attractive colors, including two new color tango red and battleship gray.

The new Thar has been designed keeping in mind the comfort and convenience. It has rear AC vents so that passengers sitting in the second line can also enjoy cold and comfortable drives. Sliding arms and dead pedals for the driver provide additional comfort. Also, now a rear-view camera will also be found in it and the power window switch has been installed at the door.
At the same time, it has been given fuel lid, rear wash and vipers operated from inside. Apart from this, it also has an entry assist handle on A-Pillar. The new Thar has a 26.03 cm HD infotainment screen, which supports both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It also has a Type-C USB port, so that your smartphone can be easily connected and all its facilities can be used.
It has a tire direction monitoring system for safety, which gives the real-time information of the tire direction. Adventure Stats Zen II feature is special for adventurers, which gives important off-road information like racing tabs, outer temperature and pressure, trip meter and steering direction.
There has been no change in the engine of the updated Mahindra Thar and thus it continues with 2.0 MStallion Petrol, 2.2 liter MHAWK diesel and 1.5 liter CRDE diesel engine. It also provides options for 6-speed manual transmission, 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission and RWD and 4X4 configuration.
